NCM Fathom Events and the Metropolitan Opera Bring Back Six
Magnificent Operas Beginning June 13
NEW YORK & CENTENNIAL, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
The Metropolitan Opera and NCM Fathom Events team up once again to
present six magnificent operas from the Emmy® and Peabody award-winning
series, The Met: Live in HD. Fans of the popular series
will enjoy select encore performances from the series, including Anna
Bolena (June 13), Le Comte Ory (June 20), Don Giovanni
(June 27), Les Contes d'Hoffmann (July 11), Lucia di Lammermoor
(July 18), and Der Rosenkavalier (July 25) during Summer
HD Encores.
Tickets for The Met: Live in HD Summer 2012 Encores, shown
in theaters Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in all time zones, are

or at participating theater box offices.
This will be the fourth series of Summer HD Encores,
following a successful sixth season of The Met: Live in HD
series and a presentation of Wagner's complete Ring Cycle this
May.

Anna Bolena — Wednesday, June 13
Marco Armiliato conducts this David McVicar production which tells the
story of an ill-fated queen (Anna Netrebko) driven insane by her
unfaithful king. This production features one of opera's greatest mad
scenes, sung by Anna Netrebko.
Le Comte Ory — Wednesday, June 20
Juan Diego Flórez plays the title role in this Rossini comedy and vies
with Isolier (Joyce DiDonato) for the love of the lonely Countess Adèle
(Diana Damrau). Maurizio Benini conducts this Bartlett Sher staged
production.
Don Giovanni — Wednesday, June 27
Michael Grandage directs Mariusz Kwiecien's interpretation of Mozart's
timeless anti-hero. Fabio Luisi conducts, and Marina Rebeka, Barbara
Frittoli, and Ramón Vargas also star.
Les Contes d'Hoffmann — Wednesday, July 11
James Levine conducts as Joseph Calleja stars in the title role and Alan
Held plays the four villains. Anna Netrebko takes on the role of
Antonia, Kathleen Kim is Olympia, Ekaterina Gubanova is Giulietta, and
Kate Lindsey is Nicklausse.
Lucia di Lammermoor — Wednesday, July 18
Anna Netrebko portrays Donizetti's fragile heroine, with Piotr Beczala
as her lover, Edgardo. Mariusz Kwiecien plays her scheming brother,
Enrico, and Marco Armiliato conducts.
Der Rosenkavalier — Wednesday, July 25
Edo de Waart conducts a stellar cast including Renée Fleming, Susan
Graham, Thomas Allen, Kristinn Sigmundsson, and Christine Schäfer.
